Five active members of the anti-discrimination student movement in Mymensingh have resigned from their organization and joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Chhatra Dal (Chhatra Dal). They were welcomed by local leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal with flowers and garlands.

Chhatra Dal leaders said that the newly joined members have been involved in the anti-discrimination student movement for a long time and have participated in various human rights-based activities on campus. However, recently, due to political stability and aimlessness in the organization's activities, they were in search of new directions and ideals.

At that time, a leader of Mymensingh Metropolitan Chhatra Dal said, "We welcome conscious and militant students like them to the Chhatra Dal. We believe that they will play a significant role in making the organization stronger and more dynamic."

A student who joined said, "We have been working against social discrimination for a long time, but it is not possible to implement the ideals without a big political platform. The ideology, leadership and organizational strength of Chhatra Dal have attracted us."

Local analysts believe that this incident has created a new momentum in student politics in Mymensingh. It is believed that such a shift in the political arena indicates an ideological change among the students.

According to Chhatra Dal sources, discussions are underway to have a few more students join the Chhatra Dal in the near future.
