An exchange meeting was held with parents of storm-hit students at Arial Khan Education Center of Madaripur Dasar Bazar Branch under the education program of Asha, a private development organization.
Navagram Union Parishad Chairman Dulal Talukder was the chief guest at the parents' meeting presided over by Education Supervisor of Dasar Bazar Branch at 4 pm on Monday (October 21). Senior Education Officer of Asha Khulna Division Md. Shahidul Islam was present as a special guest. Md. Monir Hossain, Education Officer of Asha Madaripur District, Savitri Bhowmik, reserved female member of Navagram Union Parishad, Bidhan Sarkar, Member of Ward No. 4, members of parent committee, education nurses and parents were also present.
In the speech, the concerned officials of Asha said that since 2011, Asha has been working to prevent the fall of backward students through education programs. The teaching center has undertaken programs to improve the quality of education of primary school children-5th grade students and to improve the quality of education of backward students of 6th-8th grade in secondary schools across the country and prevent dropouts. In this all arrangements will be made for education materials including free tuition services for helpless and poor students. Parents as well as teachers should come forward with awareness to prevent student dropout, only then this program can play a special role in improving the quality of education of marginalized people.
Meanwhile, parents and local dignitaries expressed their views on the Asha education program.
