Nahid Hasan Knowledge, the child of Chilmari, Kurigram, has been nominated as the 7th member of the Bangladesh Artists Welfare Trustee Board. The government has reconstituted a 15-member board of trustees to manage the Bangladesh Shilpi Kalyan Trust with poets, writers and directors.
On Sunday (September 15), the Bangladesh Artistes Welfare Board issued a notification signed by the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Ayesha Siddika.
Bangladesh Artists Welfare Trustee Board Notification No. 43.00.0000.116,22.012.22.214 of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs dated: 18 April 2023 Partially amended by the Bangladesh Artists Welfare Trust Act, 2001 (Act No. 32 of 2001) No. 6 The Government reconstituted the Board of Trustees to manage the Bangladesh Artists Welfare Trust under the powers conferred by the section. According to the notification, the nominated members will hold their respective posts for the next three years from the date of issue of the notification.
Bangladesh Artists Welfare Trustee Board member Nahid Hasan Knowledge said that monthly allowance should be introduced for artists. Cultural awakening can be done in this country if lifelong monthly allowance is arranged for 20 artists and writers in each upazila. Nahid Hasan Knowledge is a resident of Ramna Model Union of Chilmari Upazila of Kurigram. He is a poet, columnist and organizer. Many people from Kurigram district congratulated and wished Nahid Hasan for becoming a member of Knowledge Trustee Board.
