A terrible fire has occurred in Kunjerhat market of Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola. The affected businessmen claimed that 9 shops in the market were burnt in the fire and there was a loss of around 3 crore rupees.

The fire incident took place on Tajumuddin Road in the east of Kunjerhat Bazar of that upazila at midnight on Tuesday (September 10). Four units of the fire service were able to bring the fire under control in an hour's effort.

The affected traders of the market said that the fire started from a coating shop on Tajumuddin Road on the eastern side of Kunjerhat market on Tuesday midnight. Later in the blink of an eye the fire spread all around.

They also said that nine shops including four gold shops, a shoe showroom, crockery shop, tin shop, glass shop were completely burnt down in the fire. We have suffered a loss of about 3 crore rupees. We are completely destitute. We cannot afford to turn around again.

Deputy Assistant Director of Bhola Fire Service. Liton Ahmed said that four units of Bhola Sadar, Borhanuddin, Tajumuddin and Lalmohan of fire service reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The extent of the damage is yet to be ascertained, but a list of affected traders has been prepared. The extent of damage can be ascertained later.
