On the occasion of Janmashtami, import-export is closed at Benapole land port

On the occasion of Lord Krishna's birth anniversary and auspicious Janmashtami, all operations including import and export through the Benapole land port of Jessore are closed today. However, it is normal for passengers with passports of both countries to pass through the immigration check post.
On the morning of Monday 26th August, the organizing secretary of Benapole C&F Staff Association Md. Asanur Rahman said this.
He said that the import and export of goods from India at this port has been stopped since this morning on the occasion of the birthday of Lord Krishna. In addition, all activities inside the port are closed. After a one-day shutdown, import and export will be normal again from Tuesday morning.
Benapole Immigration Checkpost (OC) Md. Azarul Islam said that although import and export are closed at the port on the occasion of Janmashtami, passengers with passports of both countries can pass through this checkpost.
