Asif Mahmud Sajeeb has come to the charge of the Ministry of Youth and Sports at a very difficult time. After the change of power, this new face of the country's politics became the advisor of the interim government. The big challenge of rebuilding the sports arena is ahead of him. All the political faces have been in the top positions of various sports federations so far.
Almost all of them have been in hiding since August 5. During the reorganization of the federation, there have been reports of various levels of corruption. Today (Sunday) the new sports advisor faced the media at the secretariat. He talked about corruption in sports. He especially talked about the corruption of the cricket board.
Organizers were busy in the premises of BCB for the past few days regarding the corruption of Bangladesh Cricket Board. Pointing to that, the sports advisor's comment, 'Of course we have already found the allegations of corruption and injustice in the sports field and we can see that you are finding them and publishing them in the media. Thank you too. We will investigate these matters and action will be taken against those responsible. I have already spoken to the BCB and cricket-related people so that such incidents do not happen in the future.
Asif Mahmud commented, 'There is a plan to make the constitutions of each federation democratic so that there is no opportunity to practice dictatorship.'
Asif Mahmood's comment stating that there is an agenda to free sports from political influence, 'We will form a search committee, who will look at the current status of each federation. Those who are working, those who are responsible, whether they are there or not and what is their background, on what basis they are there, they (search committee) will publish the report.
Federations will be filled with those who are associated and working with the sport. I will try to reduce the political involvement as much as possible.'- added sports advisor.
