More than 50 leaders and activists from Barisal leave Ganadhikar Parishad and join Jamaat

About 50 leaders and activists from Barisal district, Gournadi and Agailjhara upazila branches of Ganadhikar Parishad have officially joined Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. They joined at an election meeting organized at Sarikal Talimul Quran Islamia Dakhil Madrasa ground in Gournadi upazila on Saturday (February 7) afternoon.

It is learned that in the Barisal-1 parliamentary constituency, Jamaat-e-Islami nominated candidate Hafez Maulana Md. Kamrul Islam Khan's scale marker, the leaders and activists of Ganadhikar Parishad officially joined Jamaat-e-Islami by handing over a bouquet of flowers to the candidate.

Scale marker candidate Hafez Maulana Md. Kamrul Islam Khan was present as the chief guest at the event. Barisal Press Club President Aminul Islam Khasru, Gournadi Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Maulana Md. Al-Amin and Secretary Bayzid Sharif spoke as special guests.

At the beginning of the election meeting, more than fifty leaders and activists left the party led by Barisal District Branch Organizing Secretary Md. Nurul Amin, Vice President Wasim Khan, Nurul Islam Serniabat, Shahidul Islam, Youth Rights Council Reading Circle Affairs Secretary Saiful Islam, Gournadi Upazila Branch Office Secretary Saddam Hossain, Agailjhara Upazila Branch General Secretary Zahid Khan, Agailjhara Upazila Branch President of Youth Rights Council Saidul Islam, Finance Secretary Ujjal Khan and Youth Rights Council Leader Shafiqul Islam.

After joining Jamaat-e-Islami, the organizing secretary of the Barisal district branch of the former People's Rights Council, Md. Nurul Amin, said, "We have been fulfilling important responsibilities in the People's Rights Council for a long time in the hope of changing politics in Bangladesh. But after creating an electoral environment, we have realized that our expectations will not be fulfilled. Therefore, with the aim of building a clean and just Bangladesh, we have left the People's Rights Council and joined Jamaat-e-Islami."

At that time, the Jamaat leaders present welcomed the newcomers and expressed their determination to work together for the welfare of the country and the nation.
