Doa mahfil and joint meeting held at the initiative of Keshabpur Upazila and Municipal BNP

A doa mahfil and joint meeting was held at the initiative of Keshabpur Upazila and Municipal BNP in Jessore to seek forgiveness for the soul of BNP Chairperson, former Prime Minister and uncompromising national leader Begum Khaleda Zia. A large number of leaders and activists attended the program, organized at the Abu Sharaf Sadik Auditorium in Keshabpur town on Saturday.
The program was presided over by Abul Hossain Azad, member of the central BNP executive committee, Upazila BNP president and nominated candidate for the paddy sheaf symbol of Jessore-6 (Keshabpur) constituency. Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Humayun Kabir Sumon moderated the meeting.
Jessore District BNP General Secretary Delwar Hossain Khokon spoke as the chief guest at the program. District BNP Organizing Secretary Shahidul Bari Robu, Municipal BNP President Abdur Samad Biswas, Upazila BNP General Secretary Professor Abdur Razzak, Upazila BNP Former Convener Moshiar Rahman, Municipal BNP General Secretary Sheikh Shahidul Islam, Municipal BNP Senior Vice President Kautub Uddin Biswas, Upazila BNP Vice President Ala Uddin Ala, Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Alamgir Kabir Biswas, Municipal BNP Organizing Secretary Nuruzzaman Chowdhury and various leaders of Upazila and Municipal BNP spoke as special guests.
In their speeches, the speakers recalled Begum Khaleda Zia's long political struggle and her contribution to restoring democracy with deep respect. They said that in the current critical situation of the country, BNP leaders and activists must work together in the field to restore democracy, voting rights and basic rights of the people. At the same time, everyone was urged to play an active role to ensure the victory of the paddy sheaf symbol in the upcoming elections.
At one stage of the joint meeting, the election management committee for the paddy sheaf symbol in Jessore-6 Keshabpur constituency was unanimously formed. Former Upazila BNP convener Moshiar Rahman was made the chief coordinator. Central BNP Deputy Religious Affairs Secretary Amlendu Das Apu, Central BNP Executive Committee member Kazi Rawonkul Islam Shraban and former Central Volunteer Party President Mostafizur Rahman were kept as members of the committee.
In addition, Upazila BNP General Secretary Professor Abdur Razzak was made the convener of the Upazila Election Management Committee and Upazila BNP Vice President Ala Uddin Ala was made the member secretary. Municipal BNP President Abdur Samad Biswas was given the responsibility of the convener of the Municipality Election Management Committee and Municipal BNP General Secretary Sheikh Shahidul Islam was nominated as the member secretary.
In the last phase of the program, Maulana Khalilur Rahman conducted the prayer mahfil. In the prayer, special prayers were offered for the peace, prosperity, and restoration of democracy in the country and the nation, along with seeking forgiveness for the soul of Begum Khaleda Zia.
