Government announces reward of Tk 50 lakh for arrest of Hadi's attacker

The government has announced a reward of Tk 50 lakh for arresting those involved in the attack on Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inqilab Manch and potential independent MP candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency. Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury informed reporters after the meeting of the Law Enforcement Forces Core Committee at the Secretariat on Saturday (December 13).

The Home Affairs Advisor said that the government is working with utmost importance to identify and arrest the criminals involved in the assassination attempt on Osman Hadi. A reward of Tk 50 lakh has been announced for those who will help in arresting the attackers. He sought prayers from the countrymen for Osman Hadi's speedy recovery and said that his physical condition is currently very critical.

He also said that the interim government sees the attack on Osman Hadi as an attempt to obstruct the upcoming national elections. Any conspiracy to thwart the election will be dealt with sternly. No one involved in such crimes will be spared.

Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that the government is determined to ensure the safety of the frontline fighters in the July coup. Special security measures are also being taken for this purpose. He said that the interim government, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, expresses deep regret over this brutal attack and has instructed the law enforcement agencies to bring the culprits to justice as soon as possible.

It is worth noting that the attack on Osman Hadi took place in the capital's Bijoynagar area after Friday prayers on Friday afternoon (December 12). According to eyewitnesses and police sources, gunshots were heard at approximately 2:20 pm. After that, two youths on motorcycles quickly left the scene. Police said that the miscreants came there on three motorcycles and fired at Hadi from one of the motorcycles. He was riding a rickshaw during the attack.

Osman Hadi is currently undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital in a seriously injured condition. According to doctors, the next few hours and days are very crucial for him.
