8 allied parties to submit memorandum to chief advisor on November 6

A joint meeting of 8 political parties, including Jamaat-e-Islami, has been held to demand the speedy implementation of the July National Charter and elections under the PR system. The top leaders of the parties participated in the meeting held at the office of the Khilafat Majlis in Bangladesh at 11 am on Monday.
The meeting finalized the 5-point demands along with other prioritized demands and decided to submit the memorandum to the chief advisor with a mass procession on November 6. After the meeting, the parties said in a joint press briefing that the order to implement the July Charter should be issued immediately, no further changes can be made to the revised and approved RPO in the Advisory Council. In addition, they demanded elections under the PR system, ensuring a level playing field, trial of genocide and trial of fascist accomplices.
The briefing was addressed by Ameer of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Maulana Mamunul Haque, Ameer and Charmonai Pir of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islam Dr. Abdullah Muhammad Taher. Also present were leaders of Khelafat Majlis, Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Bangladesh Nezame Islam Party, Bangladesh Khelafat Andolan and Bangladesh Development Party.
In the joint briefing, the leaders said, “The main goal of each party is to ensure the proper conduct of the country’s democratic process and elections.” The parties present at the meeting agreed that they will continue their future movement activities jointly.
