The results of the recently held student parliament elections will have an impact on the next national parliament elections, said Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.

He made this comment while addressing the party's central women's divisional Majlish-e-Shura session at the Al Falah Auditorium in the capital on Saturday (September 21).

The Jamaat Ameer said, "Islami Chhatra Shibir has achieved victory in the DUCSU and JACSU elections. Many are overwhelmed by this victory. I believe that the impact of this election will also be felt in the national election arena, InshaAllah."

He also said, "We hope to contest the upcoming national elections with those who like us, love us and those whom we like and love. If the elections are free and fair, the Awami League can get only 70-80 seats."

Criticizing the Awami League, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “Our leaders have patiently endured various oppressions and tortures of the Awami fascist government. Many have given their lives, been imprisoned. It is because of that sacrifice that we have got the opportunity to work in a free environment today.”

He called on everyone to be humble and said, “We have to be servants of the people. We have to strive to fulfill our responsibilities. The result is in the hands of Allah alone.”

Referring to the 2024 movement, he said, “Many people gave their lives in the July-August movement, some lost their limbs, some lost their eyesight. In return for those sacrifices and sacrifices, Allah gave us a great victory.”

The session was moderated by Central Women’s Divisional Secretary Nurunnisa Siddique. Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar spoke on the political situation and the 2026 national elections.

Also present at the time were Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim, Maulana ATM Masum and other central leaders of the party.
