MES College Chhatra League leader Bijoy could not escape arrest even after hiding in a septic tank in the GEC intersection area of Panchlaish police station in Chittagong. Police took him out of the tank on Thursday (August 7) afternoon. The incident has sparked discussion among locals and the video has gone viral on social media.
In the video, Bijoy is seen hiding with half of his body submerged inside the septic tank. A policeman is urging him to come out. Eyewitnesses said that when local BNP leaders and activists chased him in the afternoon, Bijoy hid in a septic tank on the roof of a nearby building. Later, the police came and arrested him from there.
Panchlaish police station inspector (investigation) Sajjad Hossain, however, said, “I am not aware of any arrest of any Chhatra League leader by the name of Bijoy.” However, local sources claim that even though Bijoy did not hold any official position in the Chhatra League, he used to act as a Chhatra League leader at MES College.
