A huge public meeting was organized by Islami Andolan Bangladesh in Kumarkhali, Kushtia. The public meeting was held at the Kumarkhali Municipal Bus Stand on Wednesday (July 9) afternoon at the initiative of the Kumarkhali-Khoksa Upazila branch.
The public meeting was presided over by Alhaj Anwar Khan, President of the Khoksa Upazila branch of Islami Andolan Bangladesh. The party’s Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer Mufti Syed Fazlul Karim was present as the chief guest. The party’s Joint Secretary General Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman and leaders at various levels of the district and upazila also spoke at the meeting.
Speaking as the chief guest at the rally, Mufti Syed Fazlul Karim said, “People in Bangladesh are not able to do business today, mothers and sisters are not getting security of honor, young children are not able to stay at home. Political corruption and failure are responsible for this miserable condition of the country.”
Addressing BNP, he said, “Look, the public is saying, I am not saying—150 murders in nine months are BNP’s merit! It collects money in Paltan, goes to London!” — the crowd present expressed excitement at his speech.
He also said that the Islamic Movement of Bangladesh is on the streets to establish the rights of the people and will not compromise with any corrupt party.
A large number of leaders and activists of the party from the district, upazila and union levels were present at the rally. The entire event was conducted peacefully and the participation of the local people was remarkable.
