The price of green chillies has halved in just one day

The price of raw chilli which was sold at the rate of Tk 350-400 per kg on Saturday fell to almost half on Sunday (July 14). Vendors say the price of green chillies has come down due to increased supply. On this day, raw chili was seen selling Tk 200 in Karwan Bazaar of the capital. Which was sold at 350-400 per kg even a day ago.
The sellers said that they sold pepper at the rate of Tk 350-400 on Saturday as well. The prices of chillies were high due to low supply and now the prices have come down due to increased supply. It has been seen in the market that pepper is being sold at the rate of Tk 200-240 in retail shops depending on the size and quality.
One can see the vegetable shops, various vegetables are being sold at the rate of 60 to 100 taka per kg. The lowest price is papaya. Papaya is being sold at Karwan Bazar for Tk 50 per kg. Patal 60 taka; Chichinga 70 taka; Rhandas, Dhundal, Kachur Mukhi and Barabti 80 taka; Eggplant and Corolla are being sold at the price of 100 kg. Apart from this, cucumber is 60 taka per kg and tomato is 180 taka per kg. The price of broiler chicken has increased by about Tk 20 per kg compared to Saturday. Broiler chicken is being sold at Tk 190 per kg. Apart from this, golden chicken is 280-300 taka per kg.
