CID identity fraud, young woman arrested in Gwalior

Police have arrested a young woman on charges of fraud at a college in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India. It is alleged that she tried to extort money from a student by posing as a 'CID officer'.
A report by NDTV on Wednesday (May 6) said that the young woman used a police identity to threaten the student with serious charges and demanded money to settle the matter.
When the incident came to light, the college authorities informed the police. Later, the police arrived and arrested the accused young woman.
Police said that a case has been registered against her for cheating and trying to extort money by using a fake identity. It is being investigated whether anyone else is involved in the incident.
