The country where suicide is punishable by death if it fails!

Suicide was already strictly prohibited in North Korea. This time, the country's supreme leader Kim Jong Un has made that prohibition even stricter. The new directive states that if someone tries to commit suicide and survives, he will also be sentenced to death.
The suicide rate in the country has increased alarmingly in recent months. According to South Korea's intelligence agency, the number of suicides this year has increased by more than 40 percent compared to last year.
A spokesman for South Korea's National Intelligence Service said, "There is now severe unrest inside North Korea. Ordinary people are suffering from hunger, and there are even cases of death from hunger."
A meeting held in the country's Ryonggong province said that suicide is having a greater impact on society than death from starvation. A senior official at the meeting said, "Although the Secretary-General approved a policy to prevent suicide, officials have failed to provide effective solutions."
Sources inside North Korea say that the majority of suicides are driven by poverty, food shortages and the pressure of survival. But now, under the new order, even those who survive suicide are at risk of losing their lives, which has sparked intense criticism in the international arena.
