28 doctors expelled for drug involvement

28 Irtan doctors including Chhatra League leaders have been temporarily dismissed on charges of extortion and drug involvement in the Mymensingh Medical College campus and hostel area. The authorities took this decision in the academic council meeting held at the college auditorium on Saturday afternoon.
College Principal Professor Dr. Md. Prof. Dr. Nazmul Alam Khan presided over the meeting. President and Dr. Jimma Hossain. Md. A seven-member investigation committee was formed with Badar Uddin as member secretary. The committee has been asked to submit its inquiry report within the next five working days. Pending the report, the accused 28 intern doctors were expelled from the campus and hostel.
According to sources concerned, there are allegations of extortion, drug use, terrorist activities and threats and torture of anti-racism activists in the MMC campus against the expelled.
