Popular actress and producer Meher Afroz Shaon and Nusrat Imroz Tisha – both are well-known faces in the country’s showbiz arena. Shaon said that although they once had a close relationship, the distance between them has now increased due to political ideologies.
On Sunday (August 10), Shaon shared a video of Tisha on his social media. In the video, Tisha is seen expressing her feelings about acting in the film ‘Mujib: Ekti Qaari Roopkar’ and her pictures are being displayed with various Awami League leaders. The video also contains multiple pictures of Tisha with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Sharing the video, Shaon addressed Tisha as ‘this girl’ in the post without directly mentioning her name. He wrote, “I knew this girl since childhood. She studied singing in the same batch as my younger sister in Notun Kuri. My sister calls me Apuni—this agile girl also called her Apuni. I also saw her as my sister.”
He also mentioned that Tisha was related to Shahin Monowara Haque MP, his mother’s parliamentary colleague in 1996. In addition, Shaon also recalled Tisha’s acting experience in the play ‘Ekla Pakhi’ directed by him and her closeness with the then Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu at FDC.
Finally, Shaon wrote, “I have not seen the film ‘Mujib: Ekti Qaasi Roopkar’, nor do I want to. The performance I saw of the girl in real life has satisfied my passion.” At the end of the post, he wrote with the hashtag—‘Drink less drama and drink more’.
Shaon’s comment has created heated discussions on social media. There are also mixed reactions in the showbiz arena regarding this. Some agreed with Shaon's statement, while others saw it as a personal attack.
