As winter approaches, hundreds of Indian cows are constantly crossing the border from India through smugglers, along with drugs. And due to the arrival of these cows, Bangladeshi cow farmers are losing. At the same time, various types of crop fields including rice of farmers and poor helpless people of Bangladeshi border area are being destroyed. Hatibandha police station officer in-charge Mahmudun Nabi had to pay Tk 1,000 per cow to avoid police trouble while these cows were safely passing through various roads inside Bangladesh. And this is how the OC Mahmudun Nabi of Hatibandha police station is taking lakhs of rupees every night.
The newly joined OC Mahmudun Nabi is said to be heavily involved in BNP politics. By capitalizing on this power, he became the OC of Hatibandha police station. He became reckless after joining the police station. A case has been registered against him, allegations have been made of taking money by forming a drug and cow syndicate.
It is known that 2400 taka is charged for each cow from India for various departments. So that cows can be sold safely in different markets. And to collect this money, OC Mahmudun Nabi has appointed trusted people as linemen in the border area. Among them Khatib of Daikhawa area of ​​Gotamari Union, former Velaguri UP chairman and BNP leader Abdus Sattar, Atiyar Rahman, Manchur of Velaguri area and some others. And OC appointed Ferdous Ahmed Feroz, trusted bodyguard of OC, to take care of the linemen.
A few cow smugglers of Daikhawa area, who did not wish to be named for security reasons, said that the linemen charge Tk 2400 per cow from cow moneylenders, and from that Tk 1000 is given to the OC of Hatibandha police station, the concerned union chairman has to pay Tk 400, and the village police and members have to pay Tk 1000. , journalists have to pay 50 each to three organizations, beat officer has to pay 1'00 DSB 1'00, patrol police has to pay 1'00 ,Party man has to pay Rs.200, lineman gets Rs.200 and others get Rs.100.
Abu Taleb of Bounchowki area said that many people cannot open their mouths due to fear. When he opened his mouth, smugglers with the help of the police harassed him by introducing drugs into the house and filing a case against him.
Azizul Islam, a farmer of Velaguri area, said that due to the crossing of cows at night, farmers' paddy fields and various crops were destroyed. But there is nothing to say.
When I spoke to Saj Uddin, who smuggles Indian cattle through the border, he said that I pay Tk 2400 through the lineman appointed by the police station. From this, the OC of Hatibandha Police Station takes Tk 1,000 per cow.
Hatibandha Upazila Animal Resources Officer Mahamudul Hasan said that local farmers will suffer losses if cows come from India through smuggling. So the administration should stop the arrival of cows from India in the dark at night.
