Tamim on BCB election: "I don't think it was an election"

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) board of directors election was held last Monday. However, former captain Tamim Iqbal and organizers of several Dhaka clubs did not participate in the election. Tamim clarified his position at a press conference after the election.
Tamim said, "I don't think it was an election. I applied for e-voting, but I saw in the media that my voting information had come. Later, after checking, it was found that no e-vote was cast by me." He emailed the EC about this and they confirmed that his vote was not on record.
On the day of the election, Tamim further clarified in a Facebook post, "42 votes were cast, of which 34 were e-votes. But all the people who voted e-voted were present at the center on the day of the election. All those who were elected cast their e-votes. So what is the need for e-voting? It does not fit with our principle of fair elections."
He further said, "There are some unwritten rules that we do not want to break. We did not agree to the compromise, so we have come out. From our side, let the issues remain here. We have wanted a fair election from the first day, but unfortunately that did not happen."
Tamim's comment has sparked a fresh debate among netizens and given an opportunity to raise questions about the BCB election process.
