A heated situation arose in the match between Fortune Barisal and Dhaka Capitals on the first day of the Chittagong leg. The incident between Barisal captain Tamim Iqbal and Dhaka's Sabbir Rahman quickly spread on social media and generated widespread discussion and criticism. However, Sabbir Rahman claimed that the incident was 'heat of the moment'.

In an interview given to a private television station in the country, Sabbir said,
"Whatever happens on the field, it ends on the field for us. Tamim is my senior. A respected and legendary cricketer. Such a cricketer will not come to Bangladesh. It happened in his heat of the moment. I did not think anything of it. He is very close to me (elder brother). My relationship with him is very good. I hope that the relationship will be permanent. It will be good in the future as well."

The incident began in the ninth over of Barisal's innings. Tamim Iqbal and David Malan were batting in the target of 140 runs set by Dhaka. At that time, Sabbir hit a short boundary line and threw the ball a little ahead of the bowler or wicketkeeper without returning it to the bowler or wicketkeeper. It is believed that he did this to confuse the batter. In cricket terminology, this is known as 'fake fielding'.

Tamim did not take the incident well. In the video footage, Tamim can be heard saying to Sabbir,
"Don't play too much, Sabbir, don't play too much."

However, he could not be heard saying anything else clearly. Dhaka captain Thisara Perera and the on-field umpire managed the heated situation.

It is worth noting that Dhaka was bowled out for 139 runs in the match. In reply, Fortune Barisal won easily with 24 balls and 8 wickets in hand. Tamim Iqbal was named Man of the Match for his 61-run innings off 48 balls. However, he was not present at the award ceremony, instead Nazmul Hossain Shanto attended.
