Freedom fighter commander expelled a day after joining Jamaat

A brave freedom fighter lost the post of convener of Matlab South Upazila Freedom Fighters' Sangsad in Chandpur a day after joining Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. The incident has created discussion in the local political arena.
It is learned that a decision has been taken to expel Engineer Jasim Uddin, convener of Matlab South Upazila Freedom Fighters' Sangsad, from his post. This decision was taken in an emergency meeting at the district level.
A press release said that this action has been taken in light of specific policies as per the constitution of the Freedom Fighters' Sangsad. The concerned leaders were present at the meeting and the decision was unanimously approved.
Sirajul Islam Barkandaj presided over the meeting. Various members of the district unit participated at the time. It is also said that the matter has been informed at the central level.
Earlier, Engineer Jasim Uddin officially joined Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at a political rally. At the event, he expressed support for the party's ideology and program.
The rally was attended by Dr. Abdul Mubin and party leaders and activists.
In his speech after joining, Jasim Uddin said that he took this decision based on his ideological position regarding the country's governance.
Discussions have started in political circles in the area regarding the incident and there are differences of opinion in different circles on the issue.
