Online mango sellers in Netarchapainawabganj’s Rahanpur area have announced to fix the maximum cutting charge for mangoes. According to the traders, transparency and order will be maintained in the market if a fixed charge is introduced.
Mango traders and concerned parties took this decision at a meeting held at Karbala Hall premises on Wednesday (May 6).
Mango trader Haque Hossain Palash said at the meeting that there had been confusion between buyers and sellers over cutting charges for a long time. This problem can be solved by introducing a fixed charge. He warned that action will be taken against those concerned if charges exceed the fixed limit.
The traders also said that with the increase in competition in mango sales on online platforms, complaints of excessive charges were also increasing. Therefore, an initiative has been taken to make the market more systematic by formulating a specific policy.
