Tasneem Zara regains candidacy, preferred symbol football

Tasneem Zara, an independent candidate for Dhaka-9 constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, has had her nomination papers declared valid in the appeal hearing of the Election Commission. After the commission's decision, she said that she will apply for allocation of football symbol to participate in the election.
Speaking to reporters after the appeal was approved by the Election Commission in Agargaon on Saturday, Tasneem Zara said, "The Election Commission has approved my appeal. My candidacy as an independent candidate has been validated. Now I will apply for the symbol, and my preferred symbol is football."
Earlier, on January 3, after scrutinizing the nomination papers, the Returning Officer of Dhaka-9 constituency declared her nomination papers invalid. The candidacy of the independent candidate was cancelled due to some informational inconsistencies in the voter list.
