A discussion and exchange meeting was held at the Dhopakhola Palki Community Center of Narail Sadar Municipality under the initiative of the National Citizen Party (NCP). The meeting was held on Saturday (November 1) at around 12:30 pm.
The meeting was presided over by retired Lieutenant Colonel M Shabbir Ahmed, Chief Coordinator, National Citizen Party (NCP) Narail District Branch. Mahmuda Sultana Rimi, Joint Member Secretary, National Youth Power, Central Committee, NCP, was present as the chief discussant at the event.
Freedom fighters, family members of martyrs of the July Movement and NCP leaders and workers from various unions of the district participated in the meeting.
In her speech, the chief discussant Mahmuda Sultana Rimi recalled the horrific days during the July Movement. He said, “The National Citizens Party (NCP) has been established through movement and struggle on the streets, ignoring the bloodshed of dictatorship and sacrificing countless lives.”
He also said, “As a new party, accomplices of dictatorship or incompetent people may try to enter the NCP. However, in the future, such mistakes will not be made again when forming committees at the district, upazila and union levels.”
President Lt. K. M Shabbir Ahmed (Retd) said in his concluding speech, “Initiatives will be taken to construct its own office building for the Narail district NCP office and to form a fund. Very soon, the organization will be made more dynamic and strong by forming full-fledged committees at the district, upazila and union levels.”
At the end of the meeting, a brief organizational review was held with the participation of the leaders and workers present.
