Who is this Sadiq Qayem, created new horizons in student politics

Mohammad Abu Sadiq, popularly known as Sadiq Kayem, has created history in the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections. He has been elected as the new Vice President (VP). He won by a landslide as a candidate from the United Students' Alliance supported by Islami Chhatra Shibir. Sadiq Kayem was elected as the VP by getting 14,042 votes in the elections held on September 9, 2025. His nearest rival Abidul Islam Khan (supported by Chhatra Dal) got only 5,708 votes. This victory has opened a new horizon in student politics.
Sadiq Kayem is a resident of Khagrachhari district and holds a BSS degree from the Department of Political Science, Dhaka University. He has been active in student politics since his academic career. He is currently serving as the Central Publications Editor of Islami Chhatra Shibir. In addition, his active role in the 2024 quota reform movement and the subsequent mass uprising was notable.
In his election campaign, he promised to build an ideal, dignified and neutral campus and to ensure the safety and good governance of students. In the future, he has planned to protect the rights of students, improve the education system and ensure the safety and good governance of students.
