Former leader of the National Citizens Party (NCP) Neela Israfil has threatened to release a 'secret video' on social media, raising serious personal and legal allegations against Sarwar Tushar, joint convener of the party. She made the threat while going live on her verified Facebook ID on Saturday (August 9) night.
Neela said, "I have repeatedly said that if I am not sincerely forgiven or expressed remorse, then I will be forced to release Tushar's nude video in public."
She further warned that those who are running 'false propaganda' about her will release the nude video and other personal information sent by Tushar during her stay in Nepal if they are not stopped.
Earlier, Neela had alleged in a post on Facebook that Sarwar Tushar's name was put in the 'husband's name' in the admission form without her permission while she was admitted to Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital. Neela claims it is fraud and a violation of human rights.
In the post, she shared a copy of the patient's admission form and wrote, "That day I was completely unconscious. I did not have the power to make any decisions about my name, identity or life. And at that very opportunity, Sarwar Tushar replaced my husband's name with his own name. This is not a mistake, it is legally fraud."
She mentioned that providing false information in a document that can be used as evidence and using it is a punishable offense under sections 468 and 471 of the Bangladesh Penal Code. In addition, changing someone's personal information without permission is also a crime under the Information and Communication Technology Act.
According to Neela, changing her personal identity without her permission is not only an insult to social dignity, but also a violation of human rights. She cited articles 3, 5, 12 and 22 of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and said that her personal dignity, privacy and legal security were violated in this incident.
Strongly condemning the incident, Neela demanded an immediate investigation, legal action against the culprits, and restoration of accurate information. According to her, “This is not just my fight, but a fight for every human being’s identity, dignity, and rights.”
