Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the northern region of the National Citizens Party (NCP), has highly praised Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman. On Sunday (July 27) morning, he praised the Army Chief's humanity and leadership qualities in a post on social media Facebook.
Sarjis wrote in the post, "Let me give you some unpopular information!"—starting with this sentence, he highlighted three important aspects of the Army Chief's direct supervision and compassionate role.
First, Sarjis mentioned that since August 5, 2024, the Army Chief has visited the CMH almost every Saturday without exception to see the injured in July. The number of these visits, according to him, has exceeded the combined number of visits by all other advisors.
Secondly, he claimed that the highest per capita expenditure was made at the CMH in Dhaka to ensure high-quality treatment for the most seriously injured, which was a direct result of the Army Chief's instructions.
Thirdly, Sarjis said that the Bangladesh Army and the Army Chief himself have contributed the most to the financial support and rehabilitation of the injured and martyred families, after the Ministry of Health and the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation.
Through this appreciation post, Sarjis Alam has essentially highlighted an example of the Army Chief's role in implementing the army's humanitarian activities, responsibility towards the injured, and commitment to the martyred families.
