Prime Minister Meets Families of Two Martyred Soldiers; Financial Aid Provided

The Prime Minister met with the family members of two soldiers who were killed in an accident during tank firing exercises at the Hathazari Field Firing Range in Chattogram. The meeting took place on Tuesday morning (September 15) at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon. During the meeting, she expressed her condolences to the bereaved family members and handed over cheques for financial assistance.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister stated that the nation would remember with deep respect the sacrifices made by the soldiers who lost their lives while performing their duties for the country. She assured the family members that both the government and the army would stand by them, pledging to provide necessary support and look after the families in the future.

Initiatives for various forms of assistance from the army for the families of the two martyred soldiers were also announced. Plans include constructing a house for each family at their permanent address, arranging employment for the wives, and providing a monthly allowance for the children.

On September 9, Soldier (Operator) Abu Bakr Siddique and Soldier (Gunner) Md. Tasnim Rifayat were killed in a shell explosion during an army tank firing exercise at the Hathazari Field Firing Range. An army officer was also critically injured in the same incident and was subsequently transferred to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka for advanced medical treatment.

Present at the meeting with the Prime Minister were Abu Bakr Siddique’s wife Suraiya Akter Juti, daughter Fatema Siddika, father Abdul Wahab, and mother Parvin Akter. Also present were Tasnim Rifayat’s wife Mst. Fahmida Afrin, daughter Rafsa Tasnim Ifra, and father Md. Asadul Haque.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by her spouse, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman, and other senior army officials. In addition to handing over financial aid to the families of the martyrs, the government's commitment to standing by them was reiterated.
