Government committed to medical care: Chief Advisor

Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus said the government is sincere and determined to ensure the best treatment for burn patients in the warplane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara.

While visiting the National Burn Institute on Saturday (July 26) night, he said that a multidisciplinary team and international protocols are being followed to ensure the best medical care for the injured. At this time, he expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and directed to ensure mental well-being through counseling.

After staying at the hospital for about an hour, the Chief Advisor inquired about the physical condition of the injured, availability of medical equipment and management. Director Professor Mohammad Nasir Uddin said that 4 patients are in critical condition, 9 are in severe condition and 23 are undergoing treatment in intermediate condition.

The Chief Advisor said that advice from foreign experts is being sought and doctors from Singapore have brought some necessary equipment. He gave special directions regarding the stay and care of the patients' close relatives.

Professor Sayedur Rahman said that initially, some confusion was created due to taking the patients to different hospitals and the ambulance crisis was clearly understood. The Chief Advisor has ordered to send specific proposals to overcome the limitations of emergency healthcare.

Health Advisor Nurjahan Begum was with the Chief Advisor during the visit. The Chief Advisor expressed gratitude to the doctors, nurses and foreign experts.
