The junior minister at the UK Ministry of Health, Andrew Gwynne (50), has been fired for making offensive comments. The country's Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, announced this on Saturday. Andrew Gwynne is accused of sending racist and sexually provocative messages in a WhatsApp group. According to a report by The Guardian, in one message he wrote that he hoped a pensioner who did not vote for him would die before the next election.
He is also accused of anti-Semitism and making derogatory comments about Deputy Prime Minister Angelina Rayner.
When The Mail published a report on the offensive messages Andrew Gwynne made in the WhatsApp group last Sunday, Prime Minister Keir Starmer decided to fire him on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Reuters reports that Andrew Ng has apologized for sending offensive messages on WhatsApp.
