First shipment of 8 tons of hilsa went to India through Benapole port.

Bangladesh government has allowed the export of 3 thousand metric tons of hilsa on the occasion of autumn Durga Puja. The first shipment of 8 metric tons of hilsa entered India in two trucks through Benapole port today, Thursday, September 26 at noon. This year, 49 companies in the country have received approval to export 3 thousand metric tons of hilsa. It is said that the export of hilsa must be completed before October 13. 10 US dollars per kg which is being exported at the price of 1180 taka in Bangladeshi taka.
Benapole Customs Deputy Commissioner Athai Lo Chowdhury said that the exporting company called Sajjad Enterprise of Jatrabari area of Dhaka is supplying hilsa to the importing company called RJ International of Bangaon area of India as per the terms of the contract at the price of 10 US dollars. The value of which in Bangladeshi Taka is 1150 Taka. A C&F agent company called Bangladesh Logistics is doing export activities.
It is known that the Fish Importers Association (FIA), an organization of Indian fish importers in Kolkata, requested Bangladesh government to consider the approval of Hilsa export from Bangladesh on the occasion of Durga Puja on September 9. In special consideration. The government allowed the export of 3,000 tonnes to India.
