Cleanliness and dustbin installation program celebrated for tourism development in Tentulia

With the theme of 'Tourist is our friend, clean tourism', an organization named 'Tourism Development Association Panchagarh' has celebrated cleanliness and dustbin installation program in Tentulia, Panchagarh. The program was held at Tetultala, the historic crossroads market of Tentulia upazila, on Saturday (October 18) afternoon.
At the beginning of the program, a colorful rally was taken out and after the parade of the main roads of the city, a discussion meeting was held at Tetultala. The organization's president Sarkar Haider presided over the event.
Barrister Naushad Zamir, International Relations Secretary of the Executive Committee of BNP, was present as the chief guest at the event. Barrister Naufel Zamir, Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Abu Sayeed Mia, freedom fighter Abul Kalam, Jubo Dal convener Khandaker Abu Noman Enam, member secretary Zakir Hossain, and members of the Tourist Police Zone were present as special guests.
Moderated by General Secretary Atiquzzaman Shakil, senior vice-president Tajuddin Ahmed, Sohel Prodhan Manik, organizing secretary SK Doel, Masud Rana, Khandaker Abu Saleh Imran, Julhas Uddin, Ferdous Liton, Rabiul Islam Ratan, Morjina Akhter Mahi, Asaduzzaman Asad, Tahidul Haque, Mostaq Ahmed, Nuruzzaman Dulal, Abu Bakkar Siddique Sabuj and many others were also present.
6 dustbins were installed as part of the program. At this time, Barrister Naufel Zamir gifted 20 sticks to keep the tourist city clean and taught the attendees how to use them. He said that with these sticks, dirt can be easily collected and thrown into the dustbin, which will play an important role in building a clean city.
Barrister Naushad Zamir said,
“This initiative of the Tourism Development Association of Panchagarh will play a big role in the development of tourism. Cleanliness is not only for tourism, it is also our religious and moral responsibility. If we really want to take the tourism industry forward, it is most important to start with cleanliness.”
He also said that in many countries of the world, the culture of cleanliness is working as a key element in the development of tourism. He even gave the example of Japanese spectators cleaning the stadium after the game in the World Cup.
The organizers said,
“We have undertaken this program to develop the sustainable tourism industry of Panchagarh and create a tourist-friendly environment. Since the organization’s debut on World Tourism Day on September 27, we have been installing dustbins and conducting cleanliness activities at various tourist spots. We encourage local businessmen, residents and tourists to use designated dustbins instead of littering.”
They also said that this program will continue continuously and their main goal is to develop Panchagarh as a clean and sustainable tourist city.
