15 Bangladeshis handed over to BSF, flag meeting at Chuadanga border

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) handed over 15 Bangladeshi nationals to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) through a flag meeting held at the Joynagar border in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga. The meeting at the battalion commander level of the two countries was held near Main Pillar No. 76 of the border at around 1 pm on Thursday (July 31).
On behalf of the BGB, Director of the Chuadanga 6 Battalion, Lt. Col. Md. Nazmul Hasan, and on behalf of the BSF, Commandant of the 32 Battalion, Shri Sujit Kumar led the meeting. The handed over Bangladeshis include 4 men, 4 women and 7 children, who had illegally crossed the border into India at different times.
Assistant Director of the Chuadanga 6-BGB Battalion, Md. Haider Ali said that based on the information obtained during the initial interrogation of the handed over citizens, their families are being contacted. He also said that necessary legal steps will be taken in this regard.
It is worth noting that the border guards have informed that humanitarian cooperation and mutual relations are being strengthened at the border of the two countries through such handovers as part of the regular flag meeting.
