PDBF employee tragically dies after being hit by van in Tentulia

A field employee of the Rural Poor Liberation Foundation (PDBF) tragically died in a road accident in Tentulia upazila of Panchagarh. The deceased has been identified as Ainul Haque (45), a resident of Babuani Jot village in Tirnoi Hat union and son of Abdul Gani.
The accident took place on Wednesday (May 14) evening in Babuani Jot area of Tentulia-Banglabandha highway. According to local sources, a battery-powered van loaded with trees hit Ainul Haque while he was returning home from the office after the working day. He was seriously injured.
The locals immediately rescued him and took him to the Tentulia Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty referred him to Dinajpur M. Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital for better treatment. He died the next morning, Thursday, while undergoing treatment there.
Tirnoi Hat Union Parishad Chairman Alamgir Hossain said about the incident, "Ainul Haque was returning home in the evening after finishing his office work as usual. He was seriously injured when he was hit by a van on the way. This is a very sad incident for the family and the locals."
Meanwhile, Soleman Ali, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tentulia Highway Police Station, said, "The body has been sent for autopsy. Necessary legal action will be taken if the family receives a complaint in this incident."
Locals said that Ainul Haque was known in the area as an honest and responsible employee. His untimely death has cast a shadow of grief among his family, colleagues and locals.
