Customs seized 75 bags of tea while sending tea through Parcel and Courier Service in Panchagarh. Each sack of seized tea contains about 50 kg of tea. Customs claimed that a large amount of this tea was being sent to Rangpur and Chittagong by evading revenue.

On Monday (September 30) night, the bags of tea were seized from AJR Parcel and Courier Service in Raushnabagh area of ​​Panchagarh district. Earlier, between Monday afternoon and evening, the employees of those five organizations booked the tea bags with this parcel and courier.

Among the seized tea bags are 8 bags of Green Sky Tea House, 20 bags of Nafiz Jannat Tea House, 15 bags of Sadia Tea House, 30 bags of Chowdhury Enterprise and 2 bags of Dhansindi Trade International.

According to the customs authorities, for a long time, a gang has been trading tea in the black market by evading government revenue through parcel and courier service companies of the district. Based on secret information, customs raided the company named AJR Parcel and Courier Service in Raushnabagh area of ​​the district city at night. At this time, they received an average of 75 bags of tea paper from five establishments. Even among these 54 sacks there was no name and address of the manufacturing company.

Between Monday afternoon and evening, the employees of those five institutions booked the teas with the parcel and courier. However, none of them were found during the raid. Later customs seized 75 bags of tea and sent them to North Bengal Trade International Tea Warehouse. Revenue Officer of Panchagarh Customs Imrul Hossain Patwari, Development Officer of Tea Board Panchagarh Regional Office Amir Hossain and other senior officials of Customs were present in the operation.

AJR Parcel & Courier Service Panchagarh Branch Manager Bikash Chandra Roy said, We have booked the tea bags as per our rules. I have booked the goods by looking at the Musak challan and institutional challan of 6.3. There is no chance to see what is valid and invalid as there is a challan. In the meantime, customs and intelligence agencies came and seized the goods at night.
