A mild cold wave has been blowing in Tetulia, Panchagarh for two consecutive days. Although there is no dense fog, the intensity of the cold has increased in the cold wind from the hills. Especially from evening to dawn, bone-chilling cold is being felt, which has put low-income people in trouble.
At 9 am on Friday (December 12), the Tetulia Meteorological Office recorded the temperature at 9.3 degrees Celsius. At that time, the humidity of the air was 78 percent, and the wind speed was 8-10 kilometers per hour. Even though the sun has been visible since morning, the effect of the cold has not subsided.
Earlier, the temperature at 6 am was 9.5 degrees Celsius. Yesterday, Thursday (December 11), the temperature dropped to 8.9 degrees Celsius, which was recorded as the lowest in the entire country.
Jitendranath Roy, officer-in-charge of the Tentulia Meteorological Observatory, said,
“The temperature has been fluctuating between 8 and 9 degrees for two consecutive days. Due to this, a mild cold wave is blowing over Tetulia. The intensity of the winter may increase further in the future.”
Although the temperature rises to 26 degrees Celsius during the day, the severe cold in the morning and evening is causing extreme suffering to the public.
