Tetulia, a northern town in Panchagarh, is shivering at the lowest temperature of the season. In a day, the temperature in Tetulia has dropped by 1.6 degrees Celsius. In the last few days, the temperature has dropped from 12 degrees Celsius to 13 degrees Celsius. As a result, the severity of the cold is increasing.
On Tuesday (January 02), Tetulia recorded a temperature of 11.7 degrees Celsius at 9 am. Three hours earlier, the lowest temperature was recorded at 6 am at 12 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the entire area is covered in fog from night to morning with the cold wind from the north. Although the sun is visible in the morning, it disappears again before 4 pm. The cold has continued in the districts surrounding Panchagarh for a few days due to the cold wind from the Himalayas. Although the sun is visible in the morning, there is not much heat. Due to the cold at night and in the morning, people in villages and towns are wearing warm winter clothes. However, since the last few days, low-income people have been suffering from the sudden increase in the intensity of the cold. Also, despite seeing sunshine during the day, the intensity of the cold has not decreased. The cold weather continues to increase throughout the day and the intensity of the cold increases further in the late afternoon.
In addition, due to the intensity of the cold, there is a crowd of cold-related patients in the outer wards of the hospitals every day. Patients are receiving treatment in the hospital every day. Most of them are children and the elderly. Only those who are getting sicker are being admitted to the hospital.
Jitendra Nath, the officer-in-charge of the First Class Meteorological Office of Tentulia, said that the minimum temperature of the season has dropped to 11.7 degrees. Due to the cold wind blowing from the north-west due to its proximity to the northern Himalayas, severe cold is being felt in Tentulia in Panchagarh. Today, Tuesday (January 02), at 9 am, the minimum temperature of the season in the whole country was recorded in Tentulia at 11.7 degrees Celsius. Three hours earlier, at 6 am, a temperature of 12 degrees Celsius was recorded in Tentulia. As a result, the district is feeling extremely cold. The humidity level is 79 percent at this time. The temperature may drop further in the future.
