The mystery of the sudden fog in Dhaka! Is it a sign of winter too early?

Sudden foggy weather has been observed in various parts of the country, including Tentulia in the far north and the capital Dhaka. Although the daytime temperature was hot in Tentulia on Saturday (September 20) morning, thick fog covered the surroundings until dawn and morning. Locals say this is a sign of the arrival of winter.
Jitendranath Roy, officer-in-charge of the Tentulia Meteorological Observatory, said that as the monsoon winds have become inactive, mountain frosty air has started entering from the north. Due to this, the fog has suddenly thickened. While the maximum temperature on Friday was 29.9 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature on Saturday morning dropped to 25.2 degrees Celsius.
Locals said that Kashful has started blooming on the river banks, dew is accumulating in the fields, and rice fields are soaked in dewdrops. Nure Alam Siddiqui of Tentulia Sadar Upazila said, “I woke up in the morning and found the surrounding area covered in thick fog. It seems that winter will come much earlier this time.” Swapan Ahmed also said, “Light fog has been falling since the evening for a few days. This morning, everything is covered in fog.”
The sky in the capital Dhaka was also cloudy since Saturday morning. From 6 am to 10 am, the weather was very hot with fog and muggy weather. Meteorologist Md. Hafizur Rahman said, “This is the transitional period for the monsoon to leave. The cloudy weather has been seen due to ‘low clouds’ or low clouds. Besides, environmental pollution is also playing a role in this. Currently, Dhaka’s air pollution is in a health-threatening condition, with the IQ air value at 170.”
There is a mild winter atmosphere with this fog in Tentulia and its surroundings. Amidst the sudden change in weather, there is a possibility of low pressure again appearing in the sea. It may affect the coastal areas from next Wednesday, but the detailed impact is not yet clear. Dhaka may still receive partial rain today and the possibility of rainfall may increase slightly tomorrow.
At this time, the message of the arrival of winter is clear in different parts of the country, and the common people are experiencing the perfect beauty of nature in the morning wet with fog and dew.
