Neymar threatens opponent after receiving a red card

Santos star Neymar has found himself at the center of a new controversy after being shown a red card during a match against Bahia in the Brazilian league. He was forced to leave the pitch following a verbal altercation with opposing player Rodrigo Nestor, and subsequently sparked further discussion by threatening to "deal with" Nestor later.
The match between Santos and Bahia in the Brazilian Championship on Saturday night (October 24) ended in a 1-1 draw. However, it was Neymar’s red card and his reaction while leaving the field that drew more attention than the match result itself.
Earlier in the game, Neymar received a yellow card for throwing the ball at an opponent's chest. Later, just before the start of the second half, he held his hand in front of his face while speaking to Rodrigo Nestor. Following a complaint from Nestor, referee Sávio Pereira Sampaio reviewed the incident with the help of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and subsequently issued a red card to Neymar.
Visibly frustrated by the decision, Neymar criticized Nestor’s conduct as he left the pitch. In a circulating video, he can be heard explaining that he had been engaging in some lighthearted banter and verbal sparring with Nestor, and that he had raised his hand in front of his face inadvertently. Neymar claims that before he could even say anything, Nestor signaled for a foul/complaint.
Describing this behavior as a "dirty tactic" in football, Neymar remarked, "I’ll deal with Nestor."
Later, in a video message, the Brazilian star apologized to Santos fans. He accepted the red card decision, acknowledging that his dismissal from the match was justified, while also praising his teammates for fighting until the very end.
Nevertheless, Neymar did not hide his dissatisfaction regarding Nestor’s role in the incident. He maintains that although there was some verbal back-and-forth between players from both sides, he did not say anything offensive to Nestor.
Neymar alleges that Nestor manipulated the rules of the game to his own advantage. Referring specifically to anti-racism regulations, he questioned the acceptability of using such an important rule to gain an advantage over an opponent.
Expressing his deep distress over the entire incident, Neymar stated that he typically does not speak publicly about on-field disputes; however, he felt that this particular episode had gone well beyond the bounds of an ordinary altercation.
