Bangladesh's dramatic win, making India cry

India has already secured the title in the SAFF Under-17 Women's Championship. So the India-Bangladesh match was a fight for the rules. However, this match was extremely dramatic. Bangladesh defeated India 4-3 by scoring a goal in the last minute of injury time.
India had defeated Bangladesh 2-0 in the first round. With today's win, the Arpitharas avenged that defeat.
Bangladesh was leading 3-2 until the 88th minute of the game. Then India equalized three minutes before the end of the scheduled time. It seemed that the match would end in a draw. But Bangladesh turned the tide of the match by scoring a dramatic goal in the very last minute of injury time.
The goal was scored by Suravi Akand Preeti. Her shot, which slipped through the hands of the Indian goalkeeper, hit the side post and from there the ball rolled into the net. The referee blew the whistle immediately after that goal. The Bangladeshi girls burst into joy, and the Indian footballers broke down in tears.
In the tournament, four teams played a total of six matches in a double round robin league. Although India was the champion with 15 points, Bangladesh finished as the runner-up with 13 points. If not for the draw against Bhutan, Bangladesh would have reached the same 15 points and then the title would have been decided by considering the head-to-head and goal difference.
Although the title was not won in this dramatic victory, pride and joy came to the red-green camp after defeating India.
