In Saudi Arabia, the crescent moon of the holy month of Ramadan was sighted on Tuesday evening (February 17), marking the start of fasting from Wednesday. Today is the second day of Ramadan in the country. Muslims worldwide and Saudi leaders have received Ramadan greetings from the Saudi Grand Mufti Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan.

Along with his greetings, he has urged Muslims to focus on seven key acts of worship during this sacred month:

  1. Salah (Prayer) – Performing the five daily prayers on time.
  2. Zakat – Donating a portion of wealth to help those in need.
  3. Charity (Sadaqah) – Voluntarily giving to support others.
  4. Helping Others – Engaging in acts that benefit people and the community.
  5. Quran Recitation – Reading and reflecting on the Quran regularly.
  6. Masnun Duas – Performing the supplications taught by the Prophet ﷺ.
  7. Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah) – Remembering and praising Allah, silently or aloud.

The Grand Mufti emphasized that Muslims should strive for success in observing fasting and the nightly Taraweeh prayers, and that all righteous deeds be accepted by Allah. He further reminded that Ramadan is a month of piety and virtue, making it essential to avoid sins and wrongdoing.

Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan also conveyed his Ramadan greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. He prayed that this Ramadan brings blessings, prosperity, faith, and well-being to the Muslim Ummah worldwide.
