Awami League president Sheikh Hasina went to Delhi after resigning from the post of Prime Minister in the face of intense pressure surrounding the anti-discrimination student movement. He is supposed to go to UK from there. However, the question raised by the political circles is where is the general secretary of the party, Obaidul Quader. It is known that Obaidul Quader escaped a day before Sheikh Hasina.
According to sources, the Awami League General Secretary has given cover since last Saturday (August 3) afternoon. Although he has been speaking to the media every day since the national elections, he is seen speaking less in the media during the last moments of the anti-discrimination student movement. Obaidul Quader spoke for the last time at the press conference organized at the political office of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina in Dhanmondi last Saturday. He was nowhere to be seen on Sunday.
Another source says that Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader left the country on Sunday (August 4) night. He is currently in Singapore. However, another source says that Obaidul Quader is currently staying in New Delhi.
