State Minister for Land and Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin has commented that after the historic mass uprising, the Awami League has not only lost power, but has also faced a major political crisis.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at a program organized in the Haji Camp area of ​​Chittagong city to mark the 45th martyrdom anniversary of BNP founder and former President Ziaur Rahman. The program included distribution of food items among the helpless and the inauguration of a month-long tree plantation program.

The program was organized by the joint initiative of Pahartali, Khulshi, Akbar Shah, Halishahar and Double Mooring Thana Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal.

In his speech, Mir Helal cited a recent funeral and said that responsibility and tolerance need to be practiced in political behavior. He referred to BNP as a tolerant political party and called for working together to increase the party’s image and popularity.

The event was presided over by Shariful Islam Tuhin, member secretary of Chittagong Metropolitan Chhatra Dal. The event was moderated by Fazlul Haque Sumon, former vice-president of Metropolitan Jubo Dal. The keynote speaker was Mosharraf Hossain Dipti, former central vice-president of Jubo Dal.
