Awami League Dhaka Office: Jubo Mohila League Leaders Raise Slogans

Published: 04:02 20 February 2026
Around 18 months after the July uprising, which led to the fall of the authoritarian Sheikh Hasina, several leaders of the Jubo Mohila League gathered in front of the political office of the President of the Bangladesh Awami League in Dhaka. They raised slogans while hoisting the national flag and a portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
On Friday, 20 February, at around 8:30 a.m., 10–12 leaders, including the organization’s Joint General Secretary M.B. Kaniz, went to house number 51 on Road 3/A in Dhanmondi. They raised slogans in front of the building while displaying the national flag and the portrait of the Father of the Nation.
The building has been used as the party president’s political office since 2002. Initially rented, the Awami League later purchased it in 2009 after coming to power.
It is notable that on 5 August 2024, following the gradual authoritarian shift of the Awami League, the party suffered a political setback. On that day, the office building was vandalized and set on fire, causing damage to furniture, documents, and various other items inside.
