BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman to Visit Homes of Shafiqul Rahman and Nahid Islam

BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman will visit the residences of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and Jatiya Nagorik Party Convener Nahid Islam on Sunday.
A trusted BNP source said on Saturday evening that Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at 7:00 pm and Nahid Islam at 8:00 pm.
The source further stated that Tarique Rahman has already set an example of positive politics. His visits to the two leaders’ homes are being seen as a message of constructive change in the country’s political culture. In contrast to the long-standing politics of division and retaliation, he is aiming to promote an inclusive and consensus-based political approach.
According to the results of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) won 209 out of 297 seats on its own, while its alliance partners secured three additional seats. Altogether, the BNP-led alliance will hold 212 seats in the next parliament.
Meanwhile, Interim Government Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus congratulated Tarique Rahman on the landslide victory. In his message, he said, “I extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to you for leading the Bangladesh Nationalist Party to an overwhelming majority in the parliamentary election. This clear mandate from the people will serve as an important milestone in ensuring the country’s constitutional and democratic continuity and institutional stability.”
