'I am a student, I gave according to my ability' - Tasneem Zara's fund receives unprecedented response

After posting a status on social media Facebook seeking help from the general public for election expenses, Dhaka-9 parliamentary candidate and National Citizens Party (NCP) Senior Joint Member Secretary Dr. Tasneem Zara's account has received a huge response. She said that more than 1.2 million taka donations have been deposited in her account in just a few hours.
In a Facebook post posted around 4:30 am on Tuesday (December 23), Tasneem Zara said that in just seven hours, the general public has sent more than 1.2 million taka to her election fund. Stating that such an unprecedented response was beyond their imagination, she expressed her sincere gratitude to the donors.
In the post, she also said that their total fundraising target is 46 lakh 93 thousand 580 taka. However, the fundraising activities will be stopped once 34 lakh taka is collected. He also said that donations are currently being accepted through bank accounts as the limit set on bKash was exceeded after 2 am.
In an earlier post, Tasnim Zara said that if a new style of politics is to be built outside of black money, the participation of the common people can be the main force. She said that what moved her more than the large sums of donations was the contribution of small amounts of money—5, 10, 20, 50 or 100 taka. Many also sent emotional messages along with the donations. In one such message, one wrote, ‘I am a student. I gave according to my ability.’
Reiterating her commitment to maintaining transparency, Tasnim Zara said that the complete account of fund raising and expenditure will be made public.
