Sarjis Alam, the organizer of supporters from Dhaka and the entire northern region, said that if India does not behave in a neighborly manner, 'anti-Indian sentiment' in Bangladesh will continue to increase. He made this comment on Facebook Live from the area affected by the erosion of the Mahananda River in Banglabandha, Tentulia, Panchagarh on Sunday afternoon. Sarjis said that due to the sudden opening of the sluice gate upstream of the Mahananda River in India without any prior notice, a village in Banglabandha was put at risk and erosion has started along the riverbank.

He said, "They held back the water as they wanted, they released it as they wanted - if such things continue, the anti-Indian sentiment among the people of Bangladesh will gradually become evident. If India's behavior as a neighboring country is different, then it will not bring benefits to the relations between the two countries." He further alleged that if the rivers originating in other countries, including Nepal or China, behaved similarly, India would also suffer and India's day will not always be there - Bangladesh's day will also come in the future.

Sarjis Alam stressed that the expected behavior will not be obtained from that country or its people until Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is returned to Bangladesh. In the afternoon, he participated in an exchange of views with mosque committees from different areas at Sher-e-Bangla Park in Panchagarh and specifically criticized the Election Commission. He questioned the inclusion of irrelevant symbols including radish and brinjal in the list of symbols of the Election Commission and termed it as a lack of taste.

Sarjis said that the NCP will conduct elections with the Shapla symbol as there is no legal obstacle; he also mentioned that they have no objection to adding any additional elements to the Shapla. He alleged that the Election Commission is being arbitrary and trying to misuse its power - which will be confronted politically. Sargis expressed hope that if the Election Commission does not rectify this issue, they will have to take political action against them and will participate in the next election with the Shapla symbol in front.
