Dr. Quoting Yunus, the press secretary said that he spoke about the election very quickly. To organize free, fair and participatory elections. But the mandate of the interim government is to hold elections only when the reforms can be carried out. That is from Judiciary to Civil Administration, Security Force or Media. It is their main task to elect as soon as possible after addressing all the reforms.
Dr. in the briefing. Yunus criticized former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He said that Sheikh Hasina has destroyed all government institutions to stay in power. The judicial system of the country has broken down. It undermined the right of the people of the country to vote. The new generation has been disenfranchised. Diplomats. Yunus said that the main priority of the interim government is to restore peace to the society by the law and order forces. Hundreds of people died in the student movement. Many students were shot in the eye, I went to see them. We don't know what will happen to them. No other country in the world has had to sacrifice so much. Nowhere in the world have citizens been so deprived of human rights.
The UN will investigate the killings centered around the anti-discrimination movement of students. The head of the interim government welcomed it and said, "We want an acceptable and impartial investigation into what has been done with the students." In this regard, Bangladesh government will give full support to the United Nations.
The press secretary of the Chief Adviser said that more than 50 diplomats from India, the United States and the United Nations and various organizations were present in the briefing.
Journalists want to know whether diplomats have asked any questions. In response, the press secretary said, there was no question-answer. He asked for support. He asked for full support in rebuilding Bangladesh.
Dr. Yunus said that the students will try to do what Bangladesh wants. A Bangladesh where there will be democratic system, freedom of speech and human rights. At the same time, he highlighted the issue of providing security to minorities.
The press secretary said that the chief adviser said that all the international agreements Bangladesh has made, all the legal obligations it has will be fulfilled. On Rohingya issue, he requested partners including United Nations, global agencies to continue supporting Rohingyas in financing. In the economic field, they are now emphasizing on ensuring macroeconomic stability.
