The government is going to appoint administrators in city-municipality-district-upazila councils

In special circumstances, the government can remove the mayor-councillors of city corporations and municipalities and the chairman-members of district and upazila parishads and appoint administrators. Keeping this provision, the President issued an ordinance in this regard on Saturday.

The advisory council on Friday approved the draft of the ordinances to ensure uninterrupted service to the people in the jurisdiction of local government institutions, to continue administrative activities and for emergency reasons.
Sheikh Hasina left the country after resigning from the post of Prime Minister in the face of the students' movement on August 5.

Since then, most of the country's city and municipal mayor-councillors and district and upazila parishad chairman-members are on the run. This is disrupting the activities of these local government institutions, the service candidates are suffering. In this context, the Interim Government took the initiative to amend the laws
